YLP will restore social balance within its footprint by advancing literacy including financial literacy so children will be successful in the 21stcentury.
The Youth Literacy Project is established to confront the problem of illiteracy among youth and adults particularly among the poor population and among black, Latino, and other ethnic minorities; through implementing (education, social and community partnerships) strategies aimed at improving the reading skills and the financial literacy of our young people.

To this end, we will continue to creatively confront illiteracy and develop solutions with supportive entities; private businesses and others already committed to improving literacy skills among our youth.
